This Respect in the Workplace training is designed to help trainees better understand how to cultivate a healthy and respectful workplace and the benefits this provides. Respect, diversity, and inclusion are becoming increasingly important topics for employers and employees in creating a healthy and productive working environment, and a lack of respect and inclusion in the workplace can have a variety of negative impacts on employee health and productivity.

This training will provide learners with tools and strategies to help foster a respectful working environment.

This course consists of 6 chapters and a final exam. Once you pass your exam, you may print your certificates of completion (wallet & wall sized). Training may be paused or resumed at any time, is fully narrated, and includes a plastic wallet certificate which typically arrives within 3-4 business days.

Course Outline

1. Course Introduction

This module introduces trainees to the course. It breaks down what the course is about, some of the tools and resources available to learners, and lays out course learning objectives.

2. Respecting Others

Module 2 defines respect and discusses how a respectful or toxic workplace environment can impact an organization. It also discusses ways to show respect in the workplace.

3. Diversity and Inclusion

Module 3 covers the definitions of Diversity and Inclusion and the impacts of both a diverse workplace, as well as the drawbacks of a non inclusive, non diverse space.

4. Discrimination: Explicit and Implicit

Module 4 defines discrimination and how to recognize it in the workplace. This includes how to identify microaggressions and implicit bias.

5. Violence and Harrasment

This module is about recognizing signs of violence and harassment in the workplace and the legislation that deals with such instances.

6. Cultivating a Culture of Respect

The final section discusses behaviors that promote healthy relationships and respect, how to maintain a culture of respect, and how to address disrespectful behavior.
